And now the big question of the day is…
Basil?
Or tarragon?
The bigger question is how I’m going to reach those beans at the top and beyond the top of my 7-foot bean support. It’s complicated by the proximity of a very prickly rose bush. Step ladder time, I guess. At least I’m not afraid of bees, because they seem to love the bean vines as much as I do.

How wonderful to have such a crop! Be careful on that ladder! Mmm you are so lucky and I love the way the beans look on your lovely plate.
I failed to write down what variety the beans were and now I can’t remember! Blue lake? I was surprised that some seem to be flat, because I’m sure I didn’t have any romano seeds. They also seem too tender to be romanos.
I pruned the rose bush back even more and moved a little step ladder into position this morning. That should work.
They were fantastic with tarragon. I’m looking forward to having enough to make an entire meal of them!
I have a small step ladder that I use at times to get to the top of our beans. What variety are they? Are they a Romano or Musica type? I can’t wait for mine but it will be a while. They are haven’t yet started to bloom.
tarragon!
I had never had beans with tarragon until I went to a great restaurant in Ottawa and was blown away by the flavour combination.
MMMMM
Guess what I am having tonight, now?
My goodness – you have beans already?! They’re so beautiful!
